The Shipping Forecast

The Shipping Forecast is a life or death storm warning devised in 1859, an iconic BBC radio report guiding ships large and small through the 31 sea areas of the British Isles. It is a daily voice of calm, a sort of poetry we can't really comprehend. This website is dedicated to listeners around the UK, the islanders among us and their daily shipping ritual.
